Raíces de Ansina

The Ansina tenement in Montevideo, Uruguay was home to generations of Black people of African descent until they were forcibly evicted during the military dictatorship. Decades later, its former residents are reconstructing the memory of their expulsion and their resistance, while fighting for symbolic reparations and the right to return to the land that was taken from them. A portrait of identity, community, and living memory.
